SUV rollover on I-235 injures 2

A man and a young child were injured after the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) they were in rolled over multiple times in West Des Moines, Wednesday afternoon of February 27.

According to reports coming from the West Des Moines Police Department, the accident happened at Interstate 235 near 35th Street when an eastbound SUV lost control and rolled over twice after it hit a slippery spot on the road. 1 killed, 3 injured in rollover accident near Glenwood

Yesterday afternoon, 1 person was killed and 3 were injured in a rollover accident near Glenwood, Iowa.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred shortly before 12 p.m. when the 21-year old driver of a Jeep lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off of the gravel road it was traveling on and flip over.  The Jeep landed in a ditch upside down.

The road the Jeep swerved off of is called “roller coaster hill” by residents of the area.

A 19-year old passenger in the Jeep was ejected in the accident and killed.  Two other passengers were also ejected from the vehicle and were taken to Creighton University Medical Center along with the driver.  At the hospital, the driver was listed as being in serious condition and the two passengers were listed as being in critical condition.

A Waterloo man was injured after a rollover accident occurred on Donald Street over the weekend.

Officials stated that the accident occurred just after 2 p.m. when the man was traveling at a high rate speed and lost control of the vehicle.

The man’s vehicle then entered a ditch on the side of the road before flipping and rolling over. The man was ejected from his vehicle as a result of the crash. He was then taken to Allen Hospital where he is being treated.

Man charged after three children injured in rollover accident

Officials have just finished the investigation on a single-car rollover accident that occurred in late June. As a result of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle has been charged with operating while intoxicated.

The accident occurred as the man was driving east on 140th Street and he lost control of his pickup truck. It then went off the side of the road where she struck a ditch causing the car to flip and roll.

A 16-year-old girl was injured in a rollover accident that occurred after 5 p.m. on Monday.

According to officials, the accident occurred as the teenager was driving her vehicle southbound down the roadway when she lost control when driving over gravel.

The car then went into a ditch where it flipped and rolled over two times before coming to a stop. The girl had her seat belt on and avoided serious injury in the crash. She was then transported to the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa to be treated for her injuries.

Slick road conditions may be reason for accident

A man was injured in a Cedar Falls rollover accident  this morning at 1:10 a.m.

Police identify driver involved in rollover accident

Police have now identified the 44-year-old driver that went to the hospital after a rollover accident on I-380 last week.

According to officials, the man was heading southbound on the roadway near H Avenue when he passed a vehicle traveling in the same direction. The man tried to get in front of the vehicle but was too close to it. He clipped the right bumper of the car and lost control of his vehicle.

This caused his car to flip and roll off of the roadway. The man was then transported to the hospital to be treated and he has since been released. Police closed one lane in the roadway to investigate and for emergency crews to clean up.

Woman killed in rollover car accident

A 20-year-old woman was killed in a rollover car accident in Floyd County.

The woman was the passenger in a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old man, authorities have said. The accident occurred as the 19-year-old backed out of the driveway at a high speed and hit a ditch causing the vehicle to flip and roll.

The 19-year-old driver was transported to the hospital after the accident to be treated for his injuries and the 20-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene after being partially ejected from the vehicle during the accident.

Five people were injured after a rollover accident on Interstate 80 that was caused when the driver of one vehicle lost consciousness for unknown reasons.

According to Iowa State Patrol, the 16-year-old female driver from Des Moines lost control of the vehicle near mile marker 232 after losing consciousness. Her car then went into the median so she then over corrected causing her car to strike another vehicle.

The impact of this collision caused the teenager’s car to rollover. She, along with the three female passengers in her car and the 58-year-old driver of the vehicle she collided with, were transported to the hospital. All injuries were said to be non-life threatening.
