50K possibly defective Chrysler SUVs recalled worldwide

Multinational company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has issued a recall to an estimated 50,000 compact Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) worldwide, many of which were in the U.S., due to engine problems that could lead to accidents, a report of ABC News said on December 23.

According to reports, the 2.4-liter or 2-liter engines used in the 2016 models of Patriot, Jeep Compass, and Journey vehicles may stall during operation. The four-cylinder engines of the vehicles could malfunction if their “sensor connectors” fail to work, FCA explained. The problem could also prevent the vehicles from starting the engines. Owners of the affected vehicles should expect a notification from their dealers for the parts replacement needed in their vehicles. FCA confirmed that they have not been informed of any injuries or collisions involving the recalled vehicles.
