Iowa OWI offender involved in fatal accident busted again

On June 17, Radio Iowa reported that a woman who was charged for her involvement in a fatal drunk driving (OWI) accident in Des Moines last year was arrested recently in southern Iowa.

A sheriff in Lucas County reported that authorities arrested a 53-year-old woman on June 10 due to suspicions that she was driving a vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants. Deputies later learned that the woman’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.112 percent after a preliminary breath test. Records showed the woman was charged in connection to a November 17 OWI accident that killed a 60-year-old man and a 59-year-old man. The woman, who was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide-operating under the influence and vehicular homicide-reckless driving, is scheduled for a court hearing in September.
