NHTSA to investigate Tesla cars
An investigation concerning the safety of Tesla electric cars was launched after three Model S cars caught on fire.
Experts suspect that the fires were caused by damage to the car battery. Two of the vehicles reportedly struck road objects, while the other crashed.
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, plans to address the problems with the Model S by elevating the clearance between the vehicle’s undercarriage and the road, allowing the NHTSA to thoroughly investigate the vehicle, and improving the vehicle’s warranty plan.
Musk, resisting pressure to issue a product recall, has full confidence in the safety of the Tesla Model S.
