Thousands of BMW cars with potential brake malfunction recalled

Thousands of 2012-2014 BMW model vehicles with 2-liter 4-cylinder gas engines are being recalled by the German automaker due to potential brake malfunction, according to a USA Today report from October 1.

The recall affects 76,200 BMW Series 1, 3, and 5 sedans, X1 and X3 SUVs, and the Z4 sports cars. The affected vehicles may have an interception of the oil supply, which can result in a loss of the power brakes. The German automaker explained that the recalled vehicles may still be stopped by exerting extra pressure when stepping on the brake pedal.

BMW advised the owners of the recalled vehicles to immediately have it towed.
