615,000 Toyota Sienna minivans recalled
Japanese automaker giant Toyota is recalling at least 615,000 previous models of Sienna minivans due to a transmission issue that may cause the vehicle to roll away, according to a September 26 report.
In the latest recall, the 2004-2005 and 2007-2009 Sienna minivan models may have a defective shift lock solenoid that could move the shift lever out of the “Park” position and cause the vehicle to roll away.
Before the recall, at least 21 accidents and two injuries linked to the transmission issue have been reported. To prevent accidents, owners should contact their dealers to have their vehicles repaired.
Sadly, many people sustain injuries from defective vehicles. If you or someone you know have been harmed in an accident due to an auto defect, compensation may be sought from negligent manufacturers to cover your loss.
