Motorcyclist dies in Marshalltown crash
A motorcyclist was killed and another was hurt after their motorcycle crashed in Marshalltown on the evening of June 17.
Reports coming from the Iowa State Patrol stated that 33-year-old motorcyclist Mathew Allen Lavender and his passenger, 32-year-old April Stanley, were on Highway 14, north of Marshalltown, around 11 p.m. when their motorcycle left the roadway and veered to the right. Lavender and Stanley were thrown from the motorcycle after it hit a ditch and rolled several times. Lavender was declared dead on the scene of the accident while Stanley sustained minor injuries from the crash.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by authorities.
