Woman motorcyclist injured in accident

A woman motorcyclist was injured after her motorcycle struck a car on Seventh Avenue North in Clinton on the afternoon of May 6.

According to the Clinton Police, who responded to the scene, the accident happened at around 4 p.m. on the 500 block on when the northbound motorcycle, driven by 45-year-old Karla Trude, veered into the westbound lane and struck a car driven by 29-year-old Shannon Bell. Trude, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained injuries after she was thrown to the pavement. Trude was transported to the hospital by the Clinton Fire Dept.

The cause of the crash was not immediately determined and was under investigation.
