Two Killed in 30 Vehicle Accident
Two people died while seven were injured in a car accident that involved more than 30 vehicles late last month.
The Iowa State Patrol blamed the accident on blowing snow that inhibited motorists’ visibility, resulting in the series of collisions that occurred, as drivers had difficulty seeing vehicles in front of them because of the inclement weather. Heavily ice- and snow-covered roads also added to the dangerous conditions. The area was closed for several hours while troopers removed the vehicles that were affected.
The Iowa State Patrol advised motorists to avoid driving in dangerous weather conditions such as the ones that caused this accident.
