2012 Iowa motorcycle fatalities reach 11 after weekend crashes

This weekend in Iowa, four people lost their lives in motorcycle accidents.

A 42-year-old Monticello man lost control of his bike and was later pronounced dead at a Dubuque hospital. A 57-year-old man and his wife also lost their lives when their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Iowa Highway 92. A fourth motorcyclist passed away as well  in Worth County.

Since the beginning of 2012, there have now been 11 motorcycle fatalities in the state of Iowa. This number is larger than it was during the same period in 2011, and the motorcycle administrator for the Iowa Department of Transportation believes that the warmer weather is connected with the higher number of motorcyclists who are out on the road at this time of the year.

It is important to be aware of motorcyclists while driving in Iowa. If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, please contact the Des Moines motorcycle accident lawyers of LaMarca Law Group, P.C. by calling 877-327-2600 today.
