Holiday festivities take place in Des Moines this weekend
Several local choirs and bands were on hand this weekend to kick off the holiday season in Des Moines, Iowa.
The annual tree lighting took place Friday night with the assistance of Santa Claus. The lighting occured at the Big Catch Plaza and numerous residents were there to watch the festivities. Santa arrived in a sleigh being pulled by Harley Davidson motorcycles and helped with the lighting of the tree.
The Des Moines Yacht Club sponsored lighted boat parade was in full swing Saturday night as decorated boats left the marina to tour the areas of Redondo and Three Tree Point.
