Iowa man killed in motocycle accident
A 46-year-old motorcyclist from Pleasant Hill, Iowa was killed in a motorcycle accident last week.
The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 85 about 50 miles north of Lusk when he attempted to pass a pickup truck pulling a 28-foot camper trailer on the left. The driver of the truck began turning left onto Cheyenne River Road at the same time.
According to reports, the motorcycle collided with the vehicle near the front axles of the camper. The driver was thrown off of the motorcycle and was caught underneath the trailer until the driver of the truck came to a stop just off the highway.
The passengers of the truck were not injured. However, the motorcyclist died about an hour and a half after the time of the accident.
Our deepest condolences are with the family and friends of the victim at this time.
