Accident with railroad equipment vehicle injures 4

An accident involving a car and a railroad equipment vehicle occurred Tuesday night in Lester, north of Des Moines, that resulted in the injuries of four people.

According to reports, a 20-year-old woman was driving a car on Dogwood Avenue at around 9 p.m. with three other passengers in her car. When the woman attempted to turn onto 120th Street, her car collided with a Ballast Regulator, which is a vehicle that maintains the tracks for railroads.

All four people in the car were injured and taken to local hospitals. The 56-year-old man driving the Ballast Regulator was not injured.
