Teen driver charged after accident
A 17-year-old driver has been charged with two traffic violations following the investigation of an accident that occurred in October.
The teen, from Mason City, has been charged with speeding and failure to maintain control of a vehicle after the Iowa Department of Public Safety finished the investigation into the accident.
The police said that the vehicle traveled off of the road and into a embankment which caused the car to flip over. A 16-year-old passenger was killed in the accident. Three other people, including the driver, were injured in the accident.
Speeding cars can lead to serious accidents and can be a hazard to anyone on the roadway. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victims.
