Postal workers injured in pedestrian accident
A letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service was seriously injured after he was struck by a mini-van near Davenport.
The 52-year-old man was crossing West 3rd Street at 12:23 p.m. while delivering mail to his mail route when he was struck.
The man was flown the University Hospitals in Iowa City after the accident. His injuries were said the be life-threatening at the time. The accident is still under investigation by the Davenport Police Crash Investigation Unit.
