Student killed in pedestrian accident on ISU campus
The 21-year-old junior at Iowa State University was walking back to his car near Jack Trice Stadium after the football game when he was struck by a vehicle.
The student was crossing the westbound lanes of South 16th street when he was struck by a fellow student who was on his way to work. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital in Des Moines in critical condition.
He later succumbed to the injuries that he sustained to his leg and head. Police officials said that speeding and alcohol were not factors in the collision, the driver simply did not have to stop.
