One killed, three injured in Norwalk accident

A head-on collision in Norwalk left one person killed and three injured. The car accident occurred on Highway 28 around 4:20 p.m. when a sedan crossed the center line in to traffic.

According to authorities, the car was traveling southbound on the roadway when a 62-year-old woman went over the median and hit a northbound Jeep driven by an 18-year-old man.

A 28-year-old passenger in the Jeep was killed and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by emergency crews. Both drivers were airlifted to Des Moines hospitals and one was rushed to a local hospital. All of the victims were in critical condition. No charges have been given yet because officials are still investigating the accident.
