Police officer involved in car crash found to be in possession of drugs
On Thursday, April 1, a Pleasant Hill police supervisor crashed an unmarked police SUV when he swerved off the road. Subsequent police investigation has revealed that the officer was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the crash.
After being rushed to a local Des Moines hospital via air ambulance, where he was treated and released, a search of the officer’s person revealed a small amount of methamphetamine. The officer has been charged with possession of drugs and is awaiting prosecution.
