Des Moines police officer killed in motorcycle accident

Posted on July 7th, 2010 No Comments

A 62-year-old Des Moines police chaplain was killed after a motorcycle accident at the end of June.

The man worked with troubled and grieving officers when they were suffering through a tragedy and was respected by many. The man was driving on his motorcycle when a road sign got in his path. The sign was not anchored by a sandbag, but the officer could not avoid it.

The man died on July 6 of injuries sustained in the accident. The accident is still being investigated by officials.

Motorcycle accidents can have devastating effect on everyone involved, our condolences are with the family, friends and co-workers of the officer.
